On May 20, special visitors came to Scottsville Elementary School, bringing surprise excitement and peace! Students were visited twice — once in the morning and then again in the afternoon by the Walk For World Peace 2024 monks. The group started walking from Key West, Florida on March 31 and will end their journey in Niagara Falls, New York by June 30.
The monks talked with the children about their desire to spread peace and kindness – and that this starts with each of us! They opened the floor for questions and children were curious about where they got water, food, and if they got tired while walking. The group shared that they rely on the kindness of others.
“We are so impressed by their incredible message they are sharing with the world and were thrilled they wanted to take the time to come back to our school to see our children and talk about their mission,” said Principal Cyndi Wells.
