The Albemarle County Board of Supervisors commenced their 2026 annual organizational meeting with the election of Supervisor Ned Gallaway as Chair and Supervisor Fred Missel as Vice-Chair.
“I want to thank my colleagues on the Board for electing me as Chair for 2026. As I begin my third term, I remain committed to learning and growing to better serve the Albemarle community,” shared Chair Gallaway. “I look forward to working with Vice-Chair Missel and my fellow Supervisors to deliver effective and responsible representation of our constituents.”
The Chair presides at the Board of Supervisors meetings and represents the County at official functions and ceremonial events. The Vice-Chair performs the duties of the Chair in his absence (Code of Virginia 15.2).
The Board also adopted its regular meeting schedule for 2026.
