On November 8th, Miss Virginia came to Scottsville Elementary School to share her message of health, wellness, and prevention with students and staff. It was the perfect complement to the school’s Month of Movement currently ongoing.
During her visit, Miss Virginia shared about her resilient journey to becoming Miss Virginia and spoke about healthy choices and built awareness of the harms of substance use. The Miss Virginia School Tour message aligned with the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOLs) of Advocacy and Health Promotion, Essential Health Concepts and Healthy Decisions. The children also got to sing along with her, ask her questions, and take class photos at the end.
