Each year, the Golden Apple Awards honor exceptional teachers from local schools. These educators go above and beyond to spark curiosity, support student growth, and build strong connections with families. Nominated by their school communities, they’re recognized for inspiring a love of learning and making a lasting impact—both in and out of the classroom.
This year, LeAnna Dalton was selected and celebrated as Scottsville Elementary School’s 2025 Golden Apple recipient. Dalton currently teaches kindergarten at SES. She has been at the school for 13 years and within ACPS for 15 years.
“I’m incredibly honored to receive the Golden Apple Teacher Award, ” Dalton said. “This recognition affirms my dedication to fostering a love of learning and supporting each student’s unique journey. This award inspires me to continue striving for excellence in education.”
In addition to receiving a Golden Apple, every Golden Apple recipient also will earn a grant of $500, which can be used for classroom materials.
