Yesterday, students and staff at Scottsville Elementary School donned their best purple attire in celebration of “Purple Up! For Military Kids” day. A Department of Defense Education Activity, the day encourages communities to wear purple as a way to show unified support and thank the military’s most unsung heroes- the children, who face the unique challenges that come with being the child of a U.S. military member.
