SES receives PB&J grant

Great news from Scottsville Elementary School! They have received part of the Charlottesville Area Community Foundation’s PB&J Fund grant, an amazing $6,000 to support Project Jamestown. The funding will cover the school’s field trip costs and help establish a community garden, which is a key part of the grant.

The PB&J Fund’s mission is to empower children and families through culinary and nutritional education while improving access to affordable, healthful food for under-resourced community members. You can learn more about this fantastic initiative here.

“We owe a tremendous thank you to Shelly Hamler, who worked tirelessly and devoted countless hours to applying for these grants,” said Colleen Smith, SES PTO president. “Her dedication to Project Jamestown and our students made this opportunity possible, and we are so appreciative of her hard work. This is an exciting milestone for our school, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact it will have on our students and community!”
