Bahn named as Golden Apple winner

Each year, the prestigious Golden Apple Award is presented to a truly remarkable educator within Albemarle County. This year, the winner from Scottsville Elementary School was Mrs. Collette Bahn.

“This honor is reserved for those who redefine what it means to teach, and no one embodies that spirit more than this year’s recipient,” Principal Cyndi Wells said. “Whether teaching colleagues about literacy or inspiring a student to reach their full potential, her impact radiates throughout our entire school community. Please join us in celebrating a teacher who doesn’t just teach the future, she shapes it with heart and excellence every single day.”

The Golden Apple Awards have been sponsored by Mr. Richard Nunley and Better Living Building Supply and Cabinetryfor the past 20 years. They were created to honor outstanding educators from public and private schools across Albemarle County and Charlottesville. One teacher from each school is selected for this special recognition, receiving a Golden Apple Award along with a $500 grant to support classroom materials and enrich student learning.
