Blood drive in town this Saturday

On Saturday, May 10th, the James River Good Works Group is sponsoring an American Red Cross blood drive to be held at the Fellowship Hall of Scottsville United Methodist Church (158 Main Street). Community-minded Scottsville area residents are urged to make appointments between 9am and 1:45pm on that day to give much needed blood that will save lives.

“We have 42 blood donation appointment slots that we dearly hope to be able to fill,” explained James River Good Works Director Alexander Stone. “Last year, we managed to collect 28 pints of blood during our drive, but we’re going to do our best to improve on that with the help of our wonderful Scottsville community residents.”

Anyone willing to be a 2025 Scottsville Blood Drive donor can easily do so by going to the redcrossblood.org to sign up for an available appointment time. For more information on or sign-up assistance with the drive, email jrgoodworks@gmail.com. To learn more about donating blood, you can visit redcrossblood.org/donating-blood.
