There’s nothing quite like a Saturday morning in Scottsville when the Farmers Market is in full swing.
Running every weekend from April through mid-November, the Scottsville Farmers Market brings together the best of the community, fresh, local goods, friendly faces and a laid-back atmosphere that invites you to linger a little longer.
“We’re really excited about the market this year,” said new manager Kathie Boyce. “The first market was awesome. Everybody was having a good time. The vibe was energetic.”
Opening day last Saturday welcomed an impressive 30 vendors to the Scottsville Pavilion and kicked off what promises to be another vibrant season. While many vendors commit for the full season, the market also features a rotating mix of participants, meaning each visit can bring something new to discover. And with expanded space in the middle area, now thoughtfully divided to accommodate even more vendors, there’s plenty of room for the market to continue growing.
“It’s like a little family,” Boyce said of the market. “We want to create a very warm, welcoming atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.”
Even better, the market is still open to new vendors looking to join in the fun. Boyce said those interested in signing up must be selling handcrafted or homemade items to be a part of the market. Visitors will also be happy to hear that dogs are once again welcome, making it a true outing for the whole family. Whether you’re shopping for fresh produce, handmade goods or simply soaking in the small-town charm, the Scottsville Farmers Market is the place to be every Saturday.
