Nominations for Citizen of the Year opens

The Scottsville Community Chamber of Commerce is now accepting nominations for the 2026 A. Raymon Thacker Citizen of the Year Award, an annual recognition honoring an individual who has made a lasting impact on the Scottsville community through service, leadership, and dedication.

Community members are encouraged to nominate someone they believe deserves this special recognition by completing the Citizen of the Year nomination form. Whether through volunteer work, community involvement, or efforts that have helped make Scottsville a better place to live, work, and visit, this award celebrates those who go above and beyond for the community. In 2003, A. Raymon Thacker was the initial winner of this prestigious award, with many special residents to follow including last year’s winner, James Walker.

Nominations must be submitted by August 30. Following the nomination period, the Scottsville Community Chamber of Commerce Board will review all submissions and select this year’s recipient. The 2026 Scottsville Citizen of the Year will be announced during the Scottsville Community Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Dinner this fall.

If you know someone who has made a difference in Scottsville, now is the perfect opportunity to recognize their contributions by submitting a nomination online!
