Eight Winemakers, Eight Stories, Eight Minutes With Each: A Virginia Wine Tasting Experience at Eastwood Farm and Winery from 6-8PM.   • Women’s Bible Study Group at Fluvanna Baptist Church from 10am-12pm. “Me, Myself & Lies: A Thought Closet Makeover.” Visit fluvannabaptist.org for details.
  • Wine and Zen at Eastwood Farm and Winery from 1-3pm. Participants will be led through mindful yoga, a dual sound bath with meditation and Tai Chi sequences set to the beautiful mountain backdrop. Due to limited space, registration required at simplymindfulmoment.com.

  • Youth Awakening Take 2 at the Scottsville Farmer’s Market Pavilion from 6-9pm. Sponsored by Scottsville Baptist Church, Antioch Baptist Church and Effort Baptist Church, the weekend-long event will include nights of fun games, delicious food and the best praise and worship happening by hundreds of teenagers! Guest speaker will be Gary Osteen with music by Fork Union Baptist Church’s Praise Band. Preregistration is encouraged; all registered prior to the event will be entered in a drawing. Register here.
  • Movie Night featuring the Wizard of Oz at Scottsville United Methodist Church at 6:30pm. Watch the movie in the church fellowship hall and enjoy hot dogs, soda, candy and popcorn. No charge. For information, visit sumc-va.org.


Saturday, April 20 

  • Earth Day events hosted by the Scottsville Center for Arts and Nature. Ephemeral Flower Walk starting at the Mink Creek/Van Clief Parking lot at 9am; tree donation and planting starting at the Scottsville Farmer’s Market at 10am; native seed bomb making and scattering starting at the Scottsville Farmer’s Market at 10am.   • Earth Day Celebration at Bellair Farm from 9am-2pm. Events include trash clean up, plant walks with Little Bluestem, clothing swap, garden supply and seed swap, farm supply giveaways, collection stations and plant sales. Food vendors on site as well.   • Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary: Critters on the Lawn & Pints for a Cause at Mount Ida Reserve from 1-4pm. 5% of all beer proceeds will benefit Rockfish Wildlife. For more information, visit mountidareserve.com.
  • Pulled Pork Fundraising Dinner at VFW Scottsville Post 8169 from 4-7pm. $10 donation goes to area veterans in need. Dinner includes pork, coleslaw, baked beans, dessert and a drink. Contact Dale Wood with questions at (434) 989-2260.

Earth Day Rocks! at the Scottsville Library from 11am-7pm. Stop by to decorate keepsake rocks in honor of Earth Day and take a self-guided nature walk on the library’s grounds. Visit jmrl.org for more information.
